The Institute
The Institute for Advanced Studies in Single Panel Comics exists to subject the work of Arthur Trope to a degree of scholarly attention that the work did not request and cannot prevent. Its Working Paper Series applies quantitative instruments, canon principles, and footnotes to comics that were, in every case, already funny.

The Digitization Backlog
Working Papers Nos. 1–41 (the Early Series) are held in the physical archive and await digitization. Petitions for access may be addressed to the Office of the Registrar; the Office reviews all petitions, and the Office's silence is also an answer. The Institute thanks its funders, who are aware of the situation.
